My ambition is to build Cars24 into a $100 billion company from India, with people who think and act like founders.

At Cars24, we are building for the whole journey of car ownership: buying, selling, financing and everything that follows.

I co-founded Cars24 because I believed the internet would transform every category, including cars. We began by approaching car owners at a petrol pump and finding buyers through WhatsApp. Since then, we’ve built a car ownership business across India, the UAE and Australia, helping people buy, sell and finance cars.

But for too many people, buying or selling a used car is still a leap of faith. We’ve made progress, but the internet alone could only take us so far. We could capture an inspection report on an app. Interpreting it and helping a customer decide what to do still depended on human judgment. Much of the work in this category has that same constraint.

AI gives us a way to take on those problems. It can help interpret the information, explain it and guide decisions. That is why I see a much bigger opportunity ahead than the one we started with. India built software for the world. I want us to help build the next generation of global consumer companies from India.

I’m learning this by building AI agents myself. It has made me question habits I accumulated over a decade: how we organise work, how decisions get made, and how much time a hard problem should take to solve.

At Cars24, we are rebuilding both the ownership experience and the company behind it. We call our way of working Flatland: no traditional titles or hierarchy, with people organised around problems to solve. I want hundreds of people to make real decisions, take responsibility for the outcome, challenge my thinking, and build things I could never have imagined myself.

I keep building because I enjoy it. Learning a new skill, finding a better way, discovering that something I thought was beyond me is now possible. AI has given me more of that feeling than anything since the internet.
